THERAPEUTIC APPROACH

Therapeutic Approach

My approach to therapy is compassionate, collaborative, and strengths-based. I meet each client where they are, offering a nonjudgmental space to explore your story, process your emotions, and develop the skills you need to move forward.

I specialize in working with individuals who are navigating the effects of trauma, substance use, and emotional dysregulation—often rooted in complex life experiences such as abuse, neglect, or challenging family dynamics. Many of my clients come to therapy feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or uncertain about how to move forward. They may struggle to manage their emotions, maintain stability in relationships or work, or carry a persistent sense of sadness, fear, or worthlessness.

If you find yourself coping with the aftermath of trauma, grappling with addiction or substance misuse, or living with the impact of a personality disorder, you are not alone—and change is possible. You deserve the opportunity to heal, to feel safe in your own body and mind, and to build a life that feels meaningful and connected.

Together, we’ll identify what matters most to you and work toward goals that foster confidence, clarity, and resilience.

In our work together, I incorporate evidence-based modalities including:

  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) – to challenge unhelpful thinking patterns and build practical coping skills

  • Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) – to support emotional regulation, distress tolerance, and interpersonal effectiveness

  • Trauma-Informed Care – to ensure our work honors your pace, your history, and your need for safety and empowerment

  • Gottman Level 1 Certification

In addition to individual therapy, I work with couples who are experiencing disconnection, conflict, or betrayal in their relationships. Whether you're struggling with communication, trust issues, intimacy challenges, or considering separation, I provide a supportive space where both partners can be heard and understood.

Together, we will identify the patterns that keep you stuck and work toward rebuilding connection, repairing trust, and fostering emotional intimacy. My goal is to help couples move from cycles of frustration and pain toward deeper understanding, alignment, and healing—whatever direction your relationship takes.

Whether you’re seeking support for addiction recovery, trauma healing, emotional stability, or relationship repair, therapy can offer a path forward. Together, we will build a roadmap for growth—one step at a time.

You don’t have to face these challenges alone. I’m here to walk with you through the process of healing and transformation.

BACKGROUND

EDUCATION AND WORK HISTORY

I received my Bachelor of Science degree in Social Work from Weber State University and earned my Master of Social Work (MSW) from the University of Utah. I have been practicing as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) since 2016.

Throughout my career, I’ve had the opportunity to serve diverse populations across a variety of clinical settings. My work in community mental health has involved providing therapy to individuals and families navigating a wide range of concerns, including depression, anxiety, trauma, relationship issues, and chronic mental health conditions. This experience deepened my understanding of how systemic and environmental factors impact mental health and the importance of accessible, compassionate care.

I also have experience working in an inpatient addiction recovery program, where I supported individuals in the early stages of recovery from substance use disorders. In this setting, treatment focused on dual diagnosis care—addressing both addiction and co-occurring mental health concerns such as PTSD, mood disorders, or anxiety. This work strengthened my commitment to trauma-informed care and helped me develop tools for supporting clients in building stability, insight, and lasting change during some of the most vulnerable moments of their lives.

These clinical experiences have shaped my approach as a therapist: grounded in empathy, collaboration, and a deep respect for each person’s capacity for healing and growth.
